Teresa Grandits' work centers on the medium of textiles (garments, clothing items, accessories). She transforms these goods into sculptures, relief works, installations, textile designs (digital textile printing), or posters. The metamorphises of an everday piece into an artwork allows her to tell a complex story. Additionally, she emphasizes different aesthetic aspects. Grandits transfers past or present life circumstances into a reciprocal context in her artistic creations. Through self-developed techniques, a unique visual and tactile experience is provided. The combination of different artistic disciplines supports the contentual discourse, thereby expanding the theoretical and practical scope of her works and associated visions. Grandits shapes the sculptural pieces with a sensitivity to body language, gestures and physicality, brings the clothing items into abstract or realistic poses, and expresses the artworks’ post-structural character.
